Other Contributions

2006   We completed installation of the new reader board at the community center.  The new board is easy to modify and far safer to do so than the previous reader board that required a ladder to modify.  We also purchased audio visual equipment and two new computers for the Brinnon Community Center.  The Community Center Advisory Board also identified many other needs for us to fund with the proceeds from 2006 ShrimpFest.

We recently purchased Engraving Pens for our Community Center for check-out by residents to begin marking valuables with drivers license numbers.  This was in direct response to the alarming number of residential burglaries in our town.  We identified this particular project after our Jefferson County Sheriff's Department conducted a community meeting to alert residents of the problem and give people information on how to protect themselves and their property.

We also purchased pet resuscitation devices (dog and cat) for both the Brinnon Fire Department and the Quilcene Fire Departments.  Human Sized masks were just too big to assist animals who were suffering from smoke inhalation and other breathing difficulties.  For this project, we teamed together with Olympic Mountain Pet Pals who matched our donation.  With this matching gift, it  enabled us to donate to both fire departments.

In 2002, we were asked if we could make a donation to the Brinnon Bobcat Soccer Camp for uniforms for the team.  The board decided that this was a great idea.  Our donation, along with others from our community, enabled the kids to obtain the needed uniforms.  Take a look at the Brinnon Bobcats team in the following picture!  What a great bunch of kids!
